First time in Kefalonia, and we were not disappointed. The island is beautiful, people very friendly and frankly we relaxed the moment we arrived at Villa Imagine. Everything that you want for a family summer holiday.
The Villa is fabulous, the views are exactly as the photos suggest and the villa was comfortable for all of our family. Sammy and Vicki were extremely helpful and provided all the necessary directions. The welcome pack was.....very welcome! Accommodation was exactly as indicated on the pictures and linen was changed at least twice a week. Villa was very clean.
The children alternated between the pool, movies and games room and left the adults to read and sun bathe...bliss!
The little village nearby has plenty of choice for dining and quite a few little supermarkets and is a very easy and pleasant walk.
We enjoyed the beach at Lourdas and particularly enjoyed hiring a boat for a day to explore the isolated coves.
Recommend
a trip to Asos and Fiskardo, both very quaint and colorful......but get there early as parking can get busy.
We hired a car from the airport, but we wished we had got a taxi and hired a vehicle locally for the two weeks.
We are recommending to friends and family and hope we can get to go back soon.

LUXURIOUS

We have stayed in many villa's, however, villa Imagine is one of the most luxurious and beautifully located villa's we have experienced. The views from all the rooms are spectacular, and the villa is fitted out to the highest of quality. A full wine rack is available and local restaurants & shops are within walking distance. We would highly recommend this FANTASTIC property and hope to return one day soon.

Just IMAGINE lying on comfortable sunloungers by a crystal clear pool while the cicadas chirrup in the background or sipping a cold glass of Robola on a balcony watching the sunset over a castle in the distance. Well you don't have to imagine just go to IMAGINE and all this and more will be waiting for you!
The linen, towels and voiles blowing in the (welcoming) breeze all added to feeling of romance and being pampered. the interior decor befitting such a spacious and modern villa.
Sammy and Viki were really friendly and very helpful during the booking process and afterwards, the welcome pack generous and Melanie, who comes to clean, chatty and informative.
If you have children you will be hard pushed to get them up from the basement with its Wii and pool table, its a blessing that they can go there though out of the heat of the midday sun!
The kitchen was well equipped, although, in our case, only used for breakfasts and light lunches as we found Andromeda's Taverna in Lourdas served the best Moussaka on the island!(as well as many other lovely meals of course!) Say hiya to Kostas and Teresa for us.
Please also visit The Castle taverna next to the castle at St George's it has wonderful views and lovely food (do you notice a theme here? - food - views - food - views!!)
IF you can drag yourselves away from IMAGINE then travelling around the island is both easy and picturesque. Make sure you visit Assos - very, very quaint; Fiskardo - pretty harbour and shops; Myrtos - nice white pebble beach and turquoise sea but it shelves steeply so will not be suitable for younger children. The beach at Trapezaki is lovely for children with its sandy shallow waters.
Our holiday was tranquil, calming, peaceful and relaxing - all the things we needed!
We really, really didn't want to come home!!!
Please try IMAGINE for your next villa holiday, I can guarantee you won't be disappointed - but don't book the same weeks that we want!!!
Have fun x

Five Stars is not enough for this villa, SUPERB!

First of all, what a fantastic villa !
We were with 4 adults and 4 children in this villa, the space we had was unbelievable, everything you read in the description of the villa is available, and the view what you have is fantastic !!. Upon arrival, we rented scooters 4 in lourdas, and we will be driven around the whole island, a car or scooter is a must if you want to see the island. First of all lourdas, nice place with many restaurants and markets, we have eaten there often and always good and fresh, and only 5 min walk from the villa !! the coast and the beaches that you see from the villa are great. Argostoli, as with many waterfront towns there is a hive of activity all along it with tavernas restaurants, shops and an excellent fresh fruit and vegteble market open every day. If you need to buy something
this is where you will find it, and if you're lucky you can see turtles in the port. (we have seen them !! ) Lassi is a popular destination for all holidaymakers, there are nice beaches with clear water and watersports. In Argostoli we have taken the boat to Lixouri a fun trip and the scooters just along on the boat, on that side of the island you have many beaches with red sand, and you can also thake a mud bath, (We have not done ) in Lixouri are many shops, bars and small tavernas, where you can buy a drink before you go back with the boot. The boottrip is cheap, 1 or 2 euro, the ride with the scooter to fiskardo was fantastic, the road was good, and the view is great !! we drink something in Assos, with his castle and a village square with a few tavernas a small harbour with turquoise water lapping gently at the shore, very nice place to go. A little bit further you came along Myrtos beach, Myrtos is magnificent, a true paradise ! the water is as clear as glass and you see the bottom perfectly. The setting is spectacular, but it's not a great place for playing in the sea. Sami, fantastic ride through the mountains and The beach of Antisamos is great, with a beautiful view of the mountains full of trees, and also very clear water. Poros, fun to go along with its restaurants and the ferry. Skala, touristic, long beaches, many water sports, and an old Roman villa. Lourdas beach, great restaurants, we rent a boat for 80 euros a day, good snorkelling, fishing and we saw dolphins !! (Fantastic) !! It is certainly not the last time we have been in this Villa, GREAT WE CAME BACK !!

Villa Imagine is the ideal haven to refresh mind body and soul. We booked for our wedding anniversary in June and had a truly relaxing week. The villa faces the Ionian Sea with a stunning mountain backdrop. It is well designed with all the bedrooms and living room/dining room having patio doors opening on to terraces where we ate breakfast whilst watching the local fishermen set their nets. In the distance we could see the ferry that sails to the nearby island of Zakynthos set off from the jetty twice a day.
The villa had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing holiday; there is something for all ages. The pool area is well set out with lounges and parasols whilst if you feel it gets too hot, the whole of the family can enjoy the activities on the lower ground floor where we enjoyed a game of pool, listened to music and made use of the Nintendo Wii. There is a selection of games and CD's for all tastes.
If you use the kitchen, then you have all the top quality appliances you will need. However there is a good selection of tavernas serving good value meals within walking distance of Villa Imagine.
I would recommend hiring a car to visit the island. There is one main road that links all the major towns so it is easy navigate and there wasn't much traffic on the roads.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and intend to book again next year. I would highly recommend this villa for couples and families.

Mandolin Liverpool

I had great expectations of Cephalonia after the islands depiction in Captain Correlli's mandolin. The reality , however, far exceeded my expectations. This idyll of Greek island life appears to have been unaffecred by the outside world with wonderful sleepy villages that offer an authentic taste of Greece. Just a short walk from the beautiful villa imagine my friends and I spent many an enjoyable evening in the local hamlet of Lourdhata watching the sunset from its tavernas. We also dined here every evening and were never disappointed by the freshness, quality and deliciousness of the local cuisine. We spent many a pleasant day on the beach, situated below the villa, swimming in the azure Ionian sea and eating the local seafood served in the taverna. The cephalonian scenery is a stunning mixture of the rugged hills and the serene elegance of the ancient Ionian Sea. This can be sampled and appreciated from the comfort of Villa Imagine where my friends and I felt priveledged to stay. To think that we were the first guests to be treated to its delights made us feel doubly honoured. I cannot compliment the owners enough as they have provided eveything needed for a special holiday on a special island. My friends and I all wished we stayed longer but will definetly be going back and recommending Villa Imagine to all our friends and family.
